On Tuesday night, the Golden State Warriors will face off against the Phoenix Suns in their first game of the season.
That means that the Warriors will be going toe-to-toe with their former star, Kevin Durant.
One might think there could be hard feelings about Durant from the fans and front office.
But Warriors owner Joe Lacob told 95.7 The Game that it’s going to be a very respectful night.
Lacob said:
“I want to say this to all of our fans, it needs to be, it should be and it will be a tremendous ovation for a guy that helped us win two world championships… I have nothing but the highest regard for him.”

That is a very friendly answer from Lacob.
And it’s likely a very honest one too.
During his three years with the Warriors, Durant averaged 25.8 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 5.4 assists.
Of course, he helped the team win two Finals and was named Finals MVP twice in a row too.
He was a remarkable and majorly successful part of the team.
But all these years later, Durant is now perhaps the biggest threat to the Warriors in the West.
His Suns are generally thought of as one of the toughest teams in the conference, right up there with the reigning champion Denver Nuggets.
The Warriors are looking to have a season that is much better than their last.
They want to start things in the right way and that means a successful opening night.
But they will be squaring off against a very challenging opponent with Durant’s Suns.
The fans will probably applaud Durant and give him a warm welcome on Tuesday but they will all be hoping that he doesn’t have a great night.
