The Golden State Warriors had a few confounding problems last season, but one of the most perplexing was their troubled road record.
The Warriors only went 11-30 when not at home during the 2022-23 season.
On Monday night, head coach Steve Kerr gladly addressed this after his team beat the New Orleans Pelicans on the road.
According to Anthony Slater, Kerr said, “Last year was the outlier. We’ve always been a great road team.”

Sure enough, the Warriors usually looked good on the road in the years before 2022-23.
Therefore, it was incredibly confusing to see Golden State go down again and again on the road last season.
No matter what sort of adjustments Kerr made and how healthy the team was, the Warriors had a lot of trouble overcoming their opponents when they weren’t playing at home.
So far this season, the Warriors have looked great on the road.
In fact, the only game they have lost so far was their home game on opening night against the Phoenix Suns.
Since then, they have taken down the Sacramento Kings, Houston Rockets, and the New Orleans Pelicans.
Their margins of victory have only gotten bigger too, culminating in a strong 130-102 rout on Monday night.
Does this mean that the Warriors are actually getting more comfortable on the road?
There were plenty of fans who questioned this team coming into the new season.
They were concerned about the age, the addition of Chris Paul, and the perceived weakness of the front court.
But so far, this team looks far better than it did last year.
The Golden State Warriors are once again becoming road warriors.
