The Golden State Warriors have relied on the trio of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green to bring success to the organization over the past decade.
However, every dynasty meets its end sooner or later and it feels as if that time has come for the Warriors.
While Curry remains one of the best players in the NBA, the likes of Thompson and Green are arguably out of their respective primes.
Speaking of Thompson, there was a time when he was regarded as arguably the second-best shooter in the league behind Curry.
But in the 2023-24 NBA season, Thompson has struggled to fill that role for the Warriors.
Despite Thompson’s obvious struggles, head coach Steve Kerr defended the five-time NBA All-Star, via 95.7 The Game on Twitter.
“He’s still a helluva player and a guy we’re going to need and count on, but this last week, there’s been a few games where it felt like it was right to close with someone else,” Kerr said.
"Klay's going through a bit of a rut. He's still a helluva player and a guy we're going to need & count on, but this last week there's been a few games where it felt like it was right to close with someone else. He's embraced it. He's accepted it."

Kerr agreed that Thompson is currently going through a slump, but he believes the Warriors still need the veteran forward to succeed.
Despite praising the Warriors veteran, Kerr believes over the last week or so, he has felt the need to close the game with another player and Thompson has accepted the decision.
In the 2023-24 NBA season, Thompson has made 45 appearances for the Warriors, where he has averaged 17.1 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game for the team.
While a dip in his numbers is not a huge deal for the Dubs, his underwhelming shooting has undoubtedly cost the team a few games.
After all, the soon-to-be 34-year-old is shooting 41.5% from the field and 37.1% from the three-point line while attempting 14.5 shots per game.
