It hasn’t been a great season for the Golden State Warriors so far.
Prior to Monday night, the team had lost six games in a row.
They were able to break that streak with their 121-116 victory over the Houston Rockets, which means perhaps they have started a new chapter and will be playing much better moving forward.
After the game, head coach Steve Kerr spoke to the press, according to a video from Anthony Slater.
During his chat, Kerr said that he believes the team has 12 strong rotation players, revealed the faith he has in his players, including Andrew Wiggins and Klay Thompson, and admitted that some older veterans might have to give up floor time to make way for the younger stars.
Here's an extended Steve Kerr soundbite on the Warriors' tricky rotation decisions.
*Believes they have 12 legit rotation players
*On Wiggins/Klay: "I'm really patient. I've got guys who are championship players."
*On Moody: "I think he deserves more playing time." pic.twitter.com/X4ouuIujjP— Anthony Slater (@anthonyVslater) November 21, 2023
The entire team was looking much better on Monday night.
Stephen Curry led the way with 32 points, while Klay Thompson broke out of his rough patch with 20 points.
Chris Paul was very productive with 15 points and 12 assists, while Andrew Wiggins reached double digits with 12 points and 7 rebounds.
And Dario Saric was strong off the bench, with 18 points.
This game was a huge relief to fans, who have repeatedly seen the Warriors not work well together for multiple games now.
Kerr definitely has his work cut out for him this year.
He is attempting to balance the talent of the veteran players with the promise of the young men who have joined the team.
He also has to show a lot of patience for players like Wiggins and Thompson, who have recently experienced multiple bad games.
Kerr admitted that the team is still finding its footing and working out the kinks, but he believes they are headed in the right direction.
