The Golden State Warriors dominated the 2010s decade as they went to five straight NBA Finals and ended up winning three titles.
But the Warriors superteam was in a slump after the 2019 NBA Finals, with Kevin Durant leaving the team and Klay Thompson being sidelined for an extended period of time.
It resulted in many believing that the Warriors dynasty was finally over and it was time for another team to take over their throne.
As a result, when the Warriors won the 2022 NBA Championship against the Boston Celtics, it was evidently an emotional moment for Stephen Curry.
So much so that the two-time NBA MVP couldn’t hold back his tears after winning Game 6 in Boston, and he recently explained the reason to Rachel Nichols on Twitter.
“I was crying on the court after the game because I remembered how far we had come and we are all having our moments,” Curry said.

Stephen Curry was on a mission during the 2022 playoffs.
He was by far the best player on the Warriors roster and dominated the NBA Finals.
Curry also won the first NBA Finals MVP of his career for averaging 31.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game against the Celtics.
It was a befitting response to everyone who criticized Stephen Curry during the two-year slump of the Warriors.
But fast forward to the 2023-24 NBA season, the Warriors are once again struggling to win despite having most of their 2022 championship run roster contact.
As of now, the Warriors are the 11th seed in the Western Conference with a 10-11 record.
Can Stephen Curry lead the Golden State Warriors to a strong finish this season despite a lousy start? Only time will tell.
