For the first time since the 2012-13 season, a fully healthy Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors will not be part of the starting lineup in the NBA All-Star Game.
Curry learned he was snubbed for the big game on Thursday and was asked about that following his team’s loss to the Sacramento Kings.
Instead of sulking about not being selected, Curry praised the two guards who made it into the lineup instead of him.
“Those two guys [Luka Doncic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander] are playing amazing; they deserve it,” Curry said, according to a video shared by NBC Sports.
Curry added, “Hopefully, I’m there in Indiana in whatever capacity.”
Finally, Curry said, “To still be doing it at this stage, it’s always a challenge. I never take for granted how hard it is to be recognized in that way every year.”

Curry has missed out on the All-Star Game since 2012-13, but only because he was injured.
This is the first time that he won’t be in the starting lineup solely because he wasn’t voted in.
That being said, he was second in fan voting among all Western Conference players, so it’s very likely he will be selected as an All-Star reserve when those choices are announced on February 1.
It seems that Curry isn’t bothered by missing out on the starting lineup, mostly because the men who got their names called instead are wildly impressive and enjoying incredible seasons.
Of course, Curry has other things to focus on instead of making the starting five in the All-Star Game.
The Warriors faced another painful loss on Thursday, falling 134-133 to the Kings and bringing their record to 19-23.
