The final seconds of Thursday night’s game were very painful for fans of the Golden State Warriors.
Down by one point, the Warriors had possession of the ball and it seemed like the perfect time to call a timeout.
But that isn’t what Golden State did and they ultimately didn’t even get a chance to take a shot, falling 134-133 to the Sacramento Kings.
Following the game, Stephen Curry spoke with NBC Sports and the rest of the press and spoke about why he didn’t call a timeout as the clock ticked down.
“Once [Jonathan Kuminga] gave it to me, at that point, that’s probably where the timeout…I either should have seen it or Coach or whoever just to know that there’s, like, eight people on one side of the court, and we had a screen, they trapped and I was trying to get the ball back to Draymond to see what could happen,” Curry said.
He continued: “So, I would say there probably should have been a timeout right when I got the ball and turned and saw that the court wasn’t balanced right, and we still had plenty of time. But the chaos of the moment, you’re trying to make a play and sometimes it works out, and sometimes it doesn’t.”

The chaos of the moment, as Curry put it, really got the best of the Warriors and it cost them a much-needed victory.
The Kings’ defense locked down everyone on the court, especially Curry, who couldn’t even attempt to put up a game-winning shot.
Steve Kerr also spoke about the stinging final possession, saying that he trusted his team and felt they’d do the right thing, setting up good spacing.
“Just didn’t pan out,” Kerr said, not blaming anyone in particular and praising the squad for getting “the picture we wanted eventually.”
Curry and Kerr both admit that this loss will keep them up at night but they are going to try to put it behind them and move ahead in order to secure more wins.
