Steve Kerr is undeniably a great NBA coach and has earned four championships during his time leading the Golden State Warriors.
Of course, Kerr was also a super successful basketball star for years.
Warriors hero Stephen Curry believes that Kerr needs to accept the fact that he was a wildly talented shooter during his 15 seasons in the league.
Speaking on Headliners with Rachel Nichols, via Warriors Wire, Curry touched upon Kerr’s shooting record.
Curry said:
“I know what [Kerr] will say, too, he’s like, ‘Well, look at the shots that [Curry] takes, and it’s easy when [Kerr] was wide open…But you got to be able to shoot, though. That’s the thing. I don’t ever want [Kerr] to deflect that compliment. Because once you’re in that heat of the battle and expected to make shots, there’s a pressure to that, too.”

During his years playing professional ball, Kerr was a truly gifted shooter.
He averaged 6 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists and shot 47.9% from the field and an impressive 45.4% from the three-point line.
Kerr played for the Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers, Orlando Magic, Chicago Bulls, San Antonio Spurs, and Portland Trail Blazers.
He won five championships during that time, three with Michael Jordan and the Bulls and two with the San Antonio Spurs.
He made a name for himself as a reliable and strong shooter, including in difficult clutch moments.
There is no doubt that Curry is a better shooter in the grand scheme of things and the number of threes he has made is proof of that.
But he believes that Kerr deserves a ton of praise too for the way he made shots during his storied career.
Kerr is one of the few people to find massive victories as a player and coach as well.
