The Golden State Warriors decided it was time to part ways with their young star, Jordan Poole, this past summer.
As a result, Poole was traded to the Washington Wizards in exchange for Chris Paul.
A key reason behind the Warriors moving on from Poole was the fact that the young star had seemingly become a locker room cancer for the organization.
Moreover, Poole wanted a chance to lead his own team in the NBA, and so far this season, the Dubs’ decision to trade away Poole has worked well.
It was proven after seeing the stats of Jordan Poole and Klay Thompson for this season via Legion Hoops on Twitter.
Jordan Poole this season:
16.5 PPG – 40.8% FG – 31.3% 3PKlay Thompson this season:

As per the above-attached tweet, Jordan Poole is averaging 16.5 points per game while shooting 40.8% from the field and 31.3% from the three-point line.
On the other hand, Thompson has put up 16.9 points per game while shooting 41.9% from the field and 37.6% from the three-point line this season for the Warriors.
One key aspect about the stats is the fact that Thompson is in the twilight years of his career, while Jordan Poole is arguably entering the prime years of his career.
Considering that Poole’s numbers are still worse than Thompson’s, it proves that the Dubs made the right decision by parting ways with their young star.
Moreover, under Poole’s leadership, the Wizards are the 14th seed in the Eastern Conference with an abysmal 6-29 record this season.
The Warriors aren’t exactly the best team in the Western Conference, but they are still the 10th seed in the Western Conference with a 17-18 record.
