Rudy Gobert of the Minnesota Timberwolves knows a lot about Draymond Green’s temper and on-court outbursts.
Just weeks ago, he found himself wrapped up in a chokehold from Green, which led to a five-game suspension for the Golden State Warriors superstar.
Now that Green is indefinitely suspended because of his latest actions, Gobert is stepping forward and sharing his opinion on the matter.
Speaking with Tim MacMahon of ESPN, via Legion Hoops, Gobert made it clear that he has great empathy for Green.
He continued to touch upon Green’s inner turmoil.
“You see somebody that’s not well inside and suffering. You take away the game and all that, and you want somebody to be well and be able to do what we do every night and compete and be happy,” Gobert said.

Those are kind, caring words from Gobert, which isn’t very surprising.
Even though players in the league compete against each other night after night, they care about one another and view each other as co-workers and peers.
They usually want the best for each other.
Green’s latest incident and his suspension by the league have led to a much bigger conversation about anger issues, mental health problems, counseling, and more.
It’s a conversation that the league and its players have been handling well and with a lot of honesty.
Gobert will not be the last person to wish Green well and hope that he gets the help he needs.
In the days and weeks ahead, there will be more clarity about the sort of assistance that Green is seeking and what he needs to do to work his way back to the team.
For now, he has the support of the league.
