The Miami Heat recently handed head coach Erik Spoelstra one of the biggest contracts for a coach in NBA history.
Following the news, many are wondering which highly-rated NBA coach will secure a huge payday next.
One of the most obvious answers to the question is none other than Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr.
Kerr’s current contract is all set to expire after this season.
While the Warriors have struggled to win games this season, Kerr remains one of the most sought-after coaches in the NBA.
Keeping that in mind, NBA insider Sam Amick believes that Kerr will get a massive payday from the Warriors via NBACentral on Twitter.
“Kerr, whose contract expires after this season and who has twice as many coaching title belts as Spoelstra, has an even stronger argument for a massive payday now,” Sam Amick said of a potential contract extension for Steve Kerr.
Erik Spoelstra’s extension could have an impact on Steve Kerr’s next contract, per @sam_amick

Kerr became the head coach of the Golden State Warriors ahead of the 2014-15 NBA season.
In his first five seasons as the head coach, the Dubs made five consecutive appearances in the NBA Finals.
Moreover, the Warriors ended up becoming the champions of the league three times during those five years.
After a rough couple of years, Kerr once again helped the Warriors win an NBA championship in the 2021-22 NBA season.
All things considered, Kerr has an excellent resume, and since he has won two more NBA championships than Spoelstra, it won’t be a surprise if the Warriors hand him the biggest contract for a head coach in NBA history.
This season, the Warriors are the 12th seed in the Western Conference right now, with a terrible 17-19 record.
