The Golden State Warriors will have to make a huge decision after the conclusion of the 2023-24 NBA season, regardless of whether they end up winning the championship or not.
Yes, we are talking about none other than Klay Thompson’s contract renewal in the summer of 2024.
Keeping that in mind, many expected Thompson to have a phenomenal season, earning a great contract in the offseason.
Unfortunately, so far, Thompson has seemingly succumbed to the pressure of being on an expiring contract.
NBA analyst Kendra Andrews believes the same as she revealed her thoughts via NBACentral on Twitter.
“He sometimes sits on the end of the bench by himself during timeouts or slaps his head after taking a bad shot,” Andrews said.
Contract negotiations with the Warriors are ‘weighing’ on Klay Thompson, per @kendra__andrews

Andrews mentioned that Thompson is noticeably frustrated when he makes a mistake during games.
So much so that Thompson even sits on the bench by himself during timeouts.
Considering Klay Thompson is one of the most important veterans on the Warriors roster right now, they need him to be at his best.
Even if he cannot contribute to the team on the court with his numbers, he can still be a vocal leader for the organization.
Looking at his numbers so far, Thompson is averaging just 15.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game for the Warriors.
Moreover, he is shooting an abysmal 40.2% from the field and 36.7% from the three-point line.
Due to Thompson’s poor numbers, the Warriors are struggling to win games as they currently have an 8-9 record and hold the 10th seed in the Western Conference.
The Dubs are just 3-7 in their last 10 games of the season but have a chance to improve it tonight against the Sacramento Kings.
