Numerous Golden State Warriors fans are nervous about the future of the team right now.
The team has a 9-11 record, is 11th in the West, and has suffered some really surprising and disappointing losses.
Stephen Curry is playing wonderfully, but multiple stars are not doing as well as expected and it has people questioning how the Warriors proceed.
Speaking on Showtime Basketball, via ClutchPoints, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce talked about the state of the team.
Pierce laid out why the Warriors are in rough shape.
“[Jordan Poole, Jonathan Kuminga, and Andrew Wiggins were] supposed to keep the dynasty going, but they didn’t pan out like they thought they would,” Pierce said.
He added, “[Warriors] got to make a trade… This team is barely a playoff team.”

Pierce is right when he says that Poole, Kuminga, and Wiggins were envisioned as the future of the team when they were brought on years ago.
And Kuminga and Wiggins could be leaders for the Warriors far into the future, although Poole has been traded away.
But right now, those two players look like supporting stars at best behind Curry’s extraordinary output.
They have not yet stepped up and taken over control of the team and some people are worried they never will.
Would a trade solve these problems?
It depends on who the Warriors acquire and who they let go.
It also depends on whether any possible newcomers are ready and able to take some of the pressure off Curry, slip into a leadership role, and remain consistent.
Kuminga and Wiggins can rise to the level the Warriors need and reclaim their position as heirs to the throne.
But time might be running out for this particular lineup.
