There were quite a few Golden State Warriors fans who were very interested in the drama surrounding Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets.
For a brief moment, it seemed like Durant might actually be traded to the Warriors, which would have been a major shakeup in the NBA.
But, beyond that, people wanted to know where Durant was headed because any team he’s on would immediately be a playoff contender and huge competition to the Warriors.
Well, now we know that Durant is sticking around in Brooklyn and that means the upcoming NBA season will look a lot like the last.
Warriors fan Swaggy C thinks this means the Warriors are the odds-on favorite to win the entire season again, and he might be right.

He’s not the only one with this opinion – there are many NBA fans who think the conclusion of the Durant/Irving saga is great news for the Warriors.
Back-To-Back Champs?
The biggest fear for Warriors fans was Durant moving to the Phoenix Suns.
That would instantly turn them into the biggest competition for Golden State.
But that isn’t happening now.
That means that the Western Conference will look a lot like it did last year and the Warriors were able to push through all of those teams and make the NBA Finals.
Therefore, it seems likely that they could do it again, right?
Additionally, Irving isn’t coming to LA as many predicted for the Lakers which is also good news for the Warriors.
The Warriors wanted this outcome: if they couldn’t get Durant, they didn’t want anyone to have him.
