After falling to the Denver Nuggets on Sunday night, the Golden State Warriors are about to start a four-game road trip against the Washington Wizards, New York Knicks, Toronto Raptors, and Boston Celtics.
There is a good chance that the injured Chris Paul will return to the team during that stretch of games.
Klay Thompson told NBC Sports that he is very excited to see Paul back with the Warriors.
“Can’t really ask for a better backcourt to come off the bench with,” Thompson said, acknowledging that this will be the first time both he and Paul will be part of the second unit together.
Thompson also said that Paul is going to be his regular self and provide relief for Stephen Curry, which could greatly help the team during the next four games and beyond.

Before getting injured at the start of January, Paul was averaging 8.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 7.2 assists per game.
Those are strong numbers but not as strong as what Paul usually produces.
There is a lot of hope that he will be looking much better when he comes back.
It’ll be interesting for Warriors fans to see Paul play with Thompson because both players weren’t always bench players.
Thompson seems to be adjusting to his new role with the team and scored 23 points on Sunday night.
The entire team has gotten better in Paul’s absence and he will be returning to a much more competitive Warriors squad.
He will also be coming back at a time when the team has secured some impressive wins, although they were defeated with ease by the Nuggets on Sunday.
Paul didn’t have a huge impact on the Warriors at the start of the season but he might be able to change that upon his anticipated return.
