The Golden State Warriors have struggled to win games during the 2023-24 NBA season.
After the first 15 games of the season, the Dubs have an underwhelming 7-8 record.
One of the biggest reasons behind the Warriors’ slow start is the poor form of Klay Thompson.
In fact, it wasn’t until the Warriors’ recent win over the Houston Rockets that Thompson scored 20 points in the 2023-24 NBA season.
Upon reaching this supposed milestone, Thompson shared his reaction to it, via Legion Hoops on Twitter.
“I’ve scored more in a quarter than I did tonight,” Thompson said.

When Thompson is in form, there are very few players who can stop one half of the Splash Brothers.
In the 121-116 win against the Rockets, Thompson had 20 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists for the Warriors.
But as mentioned in the above tweet, Thompson has scored more than 20 points in a single quarter.
In fact, he holds the record for scoring the most number of points in a single quarter by an NBA player.
He attained this record in 2015 after scoring 37 points in a quarter against the Sacramento Kings.
Anyway, coming back to the 2023-24 NBA season, Thompson has struggled a lot.
He’s averaging just 14.4 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game for the Warriors.
While the numbers aren’t that bad, he has shot just 40.3% from the field and 34.3% from downtown.
Considering Thompson is regarded as one of the best shooters of all time, these numbers hardly justify his stature in the league.
Can Thompson make a comeback this season after a rough start to the campaign?
