The last week has not been a great one for the Golden State Warriors.
They have lost four games in a row, saw two of their best players get kicked out in a nasty scuffle on the court, and their superstar leader, Stephen Curry, is out due to injury.
Speaking on ESPN, via ClutchPoints, Kendrick Perkins said that Curry’s absence means two players on the roster need to step up as soon as possible.
Said Perkins:
“I’m looking at Andrew Wiggins and I’m looking at Klay Thompson. It’s time for them to elevate their game. They have been a disappointment thus far in this young season and it’s time for them to elevate.”

Wiggins and Thompson have definitely had an underwhelming 2023-24 so far.
Wiggins has averaged 10.4 points and 4 rebounds, which is a step down from last season when he recorded 17.1 points and 5 rebounds.
As for Thompson, he has put up 14.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in the new season, while he scored 21.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.4 assists last year.
Both players have seen their field goal percentage drop and haven’t looked great, according to some fans.
Even if Curry was still healthy and playing, it would be time for both of these players to find their rhythm and start contributing in a big way.
On Tuesday night, Wiggins scored 9 points and 7 rebounds against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
And Thompson was, of course, ejected just 1:43 into the game due to a fight.
The story of the season so far has been the incredible work of Curry and the uneven production from everyone else.
Will a new chapter begin with Curry on the sidelines?
