During his first two preseason games, Jonathan Kuminga of the Golden State Warriors has shown that he took his summer very seriously.
He must have been working hard to perfect his game because he is performing on a different level so far.
Warriors reporter Monte Poole noted on Twitter that Kuminga recently spoke about becoming one of the NBA’s elite players recently.
According to Poole, Kuminga said:
“It’s very important to me. But it all comes from the work I put in every day…Hopefully, in the next year or two – maybe this year, maybe next year – I feel like I have a chance to prove that I can be an All-Star.”

He has clearly been putting in that work.
Kuminga has been an absolutely huge benefit to the Warriors during their opening games of the preseason.
He has scored more than 20 points both times and has also been a sharpshooter from the three-point line.
Again and again, Kuminga has shown that he is taking his game very seriously and wants to be a pivotal piece of the puzzle for Golden State.
This advancement from Kuminga is crucial for the team, especially in the years ahead.
As Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green grow older, the team will need new leaders.
Kuminga is showing that he could be one of them.
If he wants to secure his place in the future of the team, Kuminga will need to keep playing like this all season long.
That is a tall order, especially when the regular season brings stronger defense from opponents.
Right now, Kuminga looks like a player who is ready to take his game to the next level and Warriors fans are ready for that.
