The Golden State Warriors have struggled to stay competitive in the 2023-24 NBA season.
However, one of the few silver linings for the organization has been the rise of its young star, Jonathan Kuminga.
Kuminga had previously not been given a fair opportunity by head coach Steve Kerr as he was playing limited minutes.
However, over the past few weeks, Kuminga is still coming off the bench, but he is playing considerable minutes and his performance has improved a lot.
Despite the improved numbers, there are a few rumors that the Warriors could trade away their young star.
While many players may focus on that, Kuminga revealed that he simply doesn’t pay attention to the noise via Warriors on NBCS on Twitter.
“I don’t really pay attention to the trading stuff because at the end of the day, whatever happens is god’s plan for sure,” Kuminga said.

Considering Kuminga is still in the early years of his career and has a long way to go in the league, paying attention to trade rumors will only negatively impact his performance on the floor.
He mentioned that at the end of the day, he is focused on helping his team win games this season.
For the season, Kuminga is averaging 14.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game for the Warriors.
However, Kuminga’s numbers are certainly deceiving, as he has scored at least 20 points over the past five games.
Unfortunately, even after averaging great numbers, the Warriors have a 2-3 record in the last five games of the 2023-24 NBA season.
It’s no surprise that the Dubs are currently the 12th seed in the Western Conference with a 19-23 record for the season.
