In a season filled with disappointments for the Golden State Warriors, Jonathan Kuminga has been a startling and exciting surprise.
The talented forward is averaging 15.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game.
He’s been on a tear lately, stepping up his average to 25.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 2 assists during his last eight games.
On Friday night, Kuminga spoke about how much slowing down has helped him “just see everything on the floor.”
According to a video shared by NBC Sports on Twitter, Kuminga has been taking time to slow his speed and focus on every aspect of the floor, which has allowed him to get more stops and create better assists.

This is Kuminga’s third season in the NBA and it’s definitely his best one yet.
After a couple of years of trying to find his place in the lineup and constantly being a part of trade rumors, Kuminga is now a definitive member of the team and has started in 18 games already.
In the weeks ahead, his role on the team could grow even more.
The NBA trade deadline is just a few days away and it is assumed that the Warriors are going to make some significant changes.
That means that Kuminga could be given even more responsibilities and more time on the court after the big changes to the roster.
That’s quite the development for Kuminga, who was considered a trade asset earlier in the season.
The Warriors have just won two games in a row for the first time in weeks and they are now about to face off against the Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Nets, Philadelphia 76ers, and Indiana Pacers on their five-game road trip.
Will Kuminga’s surge continue during that time?
