All NBA fans are wondering what’s going on between the Golden State Warriors and Klay Thompson.
Thompson is one of the most important players in the team’s history, and yet contract negotiations between him and the Warriors’ front office are at a standstill.
Shams Charania was on FanDuel TV talking about what is going on.
He said that negotiations are currently at a “dead point” and that Thompson “wants much more than what the Warriors are offering overall, in both years and salary.”
As for the Warriors, they are not ready to give Thompson all he desires just yet and “want to see how this season goes.”

If Thompson and the Warriors can’t see eye-to-eye on this matter soon, he will enter the summer of 2024 as a free agent.
Both sides want the same thing: the Warriors wish to retain Thompson, and he hopes to stay with the team.
But he definitely believes he is worth a lot after his four championships with Golden State and his all-around impact on the team’s chemistry.
He is part of the team’s historic big three, so he thinks he has earned a large extension like both Draymond Green and Stephen Curry received.
Charania said that Thompson will be playing with a chip on his shoulder in 2023-24.
So far, he has been very inconsistent during the preseason games.
Is he going to shake that off and become an All-Star again?
If he has a stellar season, Thompson will probably earn a maximum contract extension.
If not, the Warriors will be hesitant to offer him a large sum, and Thompson will have to make a very difficult choice.
