Kevin Durant shocked the world when he joined the Golden State Warriors in 2017 and formed a superteam with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green.
Durant stayed with the Warriors for three years and helped the organization reach three consecutive NBA Finals.
The Dubs managed to win back-to-back NBA Championships in 2017 and 2018, with Durant taking home Finals MVP each year.
However, has Durant done enough to get a statue outside of the Warriors arena?
Most certainly not, and Gilbert Arenas pointed that out via Gil’s Arenas on YouTube.
“You can’t be giving statues to people that did 3 years,” Arenas said.
While former NBA player Brandon Jennings believes that Durant deserves a statue outside of the Warriors arena, Arenas strongly rejected the idea.
In fact, Arenas pointed out that it’s simply impossible for a player to get a statue outside a team’s arena for playing just three years.
Sure, Durant was undoubtedly one of the best players in the world when he donned the Warriors jersey for three seasons, but he simply didn’t spend enough time with the organization to get his statue.
The only player who truly deserves a statue outside of the Warriors arena is none other than Curry, who has spent his entire career with the organization and helped them win four NBA titles.
Arenas also joked that if any player other than Curry gets a statue outside the arena, Green may personally choke that statue.
Now, that’s a hilarious visual to think about.
