The rosters for the upcoming NBA All-Star Game are set and, as always, there are people who are excited and disappointed by the choices.
Former Golden State Warriors star Andrew Bogut definitely has some opinions about the lineup, including the snub of Domantas Sabonis of the Sacramento Kings and the inclusion of both LeBron James and Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers.
Speaking on his Rogue Bogues show, Bogut felt that Sabonis, whose team is doing much better than the Lakers, should have been selected for the game.
But he said that “the bias of the big market Lakers” had an influence and led to both James and Davis making the cut.

Bogut also said that Stephen Curry’s inclusion in the All-Star Game was questionable but, like the players from the Lakers, his legacy and prominence in the league cannot be ignored and surely had an influence on voting.
When the final selections were revealed last week, some people were really upset to see both James and Davis because their team has been lackluster for much of the season.
Fans felt that the All-Star Game should be reserved for players who are on the most competitive teams.
But that sort of thinking fails to remember that the All-Star Game is still just a big popularity contest at its core.
Considering James and Davis are two of the most popular basketball players of all time, it’s not surprising to see them get included.
As for Curry, his popularity is also legendary, although seeing him only make the reserves list and not the starting five was a bit surprising.
Bogut and others are disappointed that Sabonis wasn’t included in the All-Star Game but that’s just how the system works.
