The Golden State Warriors are going to try to shake things up in the next few weeks and take advantage of some smart, beneficial trades that can help get them back on track.
They will have a number of different approaches they can pursue before the trade deadline and could elect to get new forwards, centers, or even guards.
Speaking on Locked On Warriors, former Golden State great Clifford Ray talked about the possibility of the team acquiring Jarrett Allen, currently of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Ray called Allen a “tremendous young talent” who could certainly assist the team.
However, he doesn’r foresee Allen coming to Golden State.
“I don’t think the Cleveland Cavaliers are going to let Jarrett leave unless he’s a free agent,” Ray said, adding that he’d be disappointed if the Cavaliers did allow him to leave.
The Cavaliers are invested in Allen and it would take a massive offer to steal him away from the team.
Cleveland has been surging lately, winning seven straight games and going 8-2 during their last ten.
They are the fourth seed in the East and are looking like true playoff contenders after a rough start to the season.
As for the Warriors, they need help in just about every position on the court.
They could most certainly benefit from Allen’s talents but will have to make other plans because he won’t be leaving Cleveland.
At this point, it seems likely that the Warriors will trade away at least one or two players in order to bolster their roster.
Players such as Andrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga, Chris Paul, and others have been rumored trade assets.
What isn’t as clear is which type of player the Warriors will attempt to get in return for them.
