After spending time away from the team because of his latest suspension, Draymond Green is just about to return to the Golden State Warriors.
Speaking on his show, via NBACentral, Green opened up about the struggles he’s been through during his suspension.
Green revealed that things were starting to get “too much” for him and he told NBA Commissioner Adam Silver that he was going to retire from the league.
Silver told Green that he didn’t want to do that and convinced him to work on himself and return to his team.
Green’s revelation received quite a response online, but not all of it was kind.

There were quite a few people poking fun at Green and questioning how he could think about retiring after his multiple on-court outbursts.

Others said that Silver wanted Green to stay in the league solely because his antics have been good for generating headlines and bringing up ratings.

There were plenty of people who supported Green, however.
They applauded him for sharing his mental health struggles and wished him support and strength as he continues to look inward and improve himself.

Green agreed to do a lot of work on himself when he was suspended and it sounds like he had some tough moments over the last few weeks.
The sort of introspection and development that Green is aiming for isn’t always easy and it can come with many moments of doubt and pain.
It is good to hear that Green had the support of Silver and the rest of the league as he embarked on this journey.
