If someone were to tell you a few months ago that Kevin Durant could be heading back to the Golden State Warriors, you would have probably laughed in their face.
However, persistent rumors are saying that Durant leaving Brooklyn for the Bay Area aren’t out of the realm of possibility.
It might seem like a long shot still – and perhaps it is – but one NBA analyst made an awfully good point about the idea.
Steph Curry is not shutting down a Kevin Durant trade to the Warriors, per ESPN’s Brian Windhorst
“Steph Curry’s got the kind of clout where he can shut this down, but he’s not.”

Brian Windhorst highlighted the fact that Steph Curry has not shot down the concept of Durant back in Golden State.
“Steph Curry’s got the kind of clout where he can shut this down, but he’s not,” Windhorst said.
He’s not wrong: there are few players in the league with the sort of power and sway Curry has with his front office – so why isn’t he putting an end to these rumors about Durant’s return?
Together Again?
Curry and his Warriors don’t need Durant – their latest Finals victory proves that beyond a shadow of a doubt.
But they could certainly benefit from Durant back on board.
There are two possibilities here: Curry could actually be entertaining the idea of Durant returning to the Warriors and is letting the team explore the option.
Or maybe he’s just staying silent because he knows there is no way it’s happening and even having a conversation about it is pointless and silly.
The Warriors would have to give up an awful lot to get Durant, including some of the young role players who just secured their latest championship ring.
Of course they’d get a lot in return but is that really worth it?
Curry might not be saying much right now but that doesn’t mean this deal is happening.
But if it did, it would rattle and shake up the entire NBA – again.
