The Golden State Warriors were crushed last week by the devastating loss of assistant coach Dejan Milojevic.
Milojevic passed away at the young age of 46 after suffering a heart attack at a team dinner in Salt Lake City.
Since his passing, there has been an endless stream of support and comfort from all over the league.
Speaking on Locked On Warriors, former Golden State great Clifford Ray spoke about Milojevic and his impact on the team.
He called the assistant coach an “outstanding young man” and said he was “tireless, the way I am.”
He also added that Milojevic was “always trying to help the young people” and that he seemed like he had genuine affection for everyone associated with the team.
Milojevic was an assistant with the team for two-and-a-half seasons and had a profound impact on everyone near him during that time.
With his big personality, kind spirit, and extensive basketball skills, he helped the team forge a path after winning their latest NBA Finals.
He was with them through thick and thin and was a constant source of support, especially recently as the team has struggled so much.
He was particularly fond of helping the big men on the team, including Kevon Looney, who recently posted a heartfelt message to Milojevic on social media.
The Warriors have yet to play a game since their assistant coach’s passing but they are scheduled to face off against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night.
There will likely be some sort of memorial before that game and perhaps something larger later in the season to celebrate Milojevic’s life and his place within the team.
