The Golden State Warriors shocked the NBA community after trading for Chris Paul during the offseason.
After all, Paul had some elite battles against the Warriors, where he ended up on the losing side more often than not.
But since joining the Warriors, Paul gelled well with the team.
Unfortunately, Paul suffered a left-hand injury and missed over a month in recovery.
Well, after weeks of waiting, Paul finally returned to the lineup during the Golden State Warriors’ recent matchup against the Washington Wizards, albeit in a different role.
Paul shared his thoughts on potentially being a part of Steve Kerr’s closing lineup via Anthony Slater on Twitter.
“Steve said he’ll try to figure it out. He said sometimes he might mess it up,” Paul said.
Chris Paul’s return crowds Steve Kerr’s closing lineup choice further.
Paul: “Steve said he’ll try to figure it out. He said sometimes he might mess it up…I do know who I am and what I’m capable of. Ain’t no question about that. I’ll always be ready.”

Considering the Warriors’ head coach is already overburdened with multiple closing lineups, the arrival of Paul further makes it a difficult job.
However, as revealed by Paul, the veteran head coach will give it his best shot to include him in the closing lineup.
One positive takeaway from this is the immense confidence that Paul showed in his skills despite being in the twilight years of his career.
The 12-time NBA All-Star believes he can still be a valuable player to the Dubs regardless of when he plays.
Speaking of his return, Paul had a quiet game where he played 22 minutes.
In those limited minutes, Paul had 9 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals for the Warriors.
Apart from his low-scoring input, Paul had an excellent defensive game which is a positive aspect for the Warriors heading into the final stretch of the season.
