The Golden State Warriors didn’t end up making large moves at last week’s trade deadline but apparently, they were thinking about trying something massive.
According to inside reports, the Warriors were interested in a trade that would have brought LeBron James to the team.
The trade never came to fruition obviously but it still has a lot of people talking.
Plaxico Burress appeared on Wednesday’s The Carton Show and stated his opinion about James moving to Golden State.
“I just don’t understand from a Golden State point of view in the front office of how adding LeBron James to this basketball team makes you better,” he said.

James is one of the greatest basketball players of all time and still a dominant and impactful player at 39 years old, but this is a valid question from Burress.
Firstly, the Warriors would have needed to give up an awful lot to get James and that would have decimated their roster.
Secondly, James has always been the most important player on every team he’s played for.
So how would he work alongside Stephen Curry, who has also always been his team’s leader?
Would this be a case of too much of a good thing for a huge amount of assets?
Perhaps the Warriors realized that this might not be as great a deal as they first thought and that’s why any talks about it didn’t move forward.
Of course, the Lakers likely would have balked at just about any offer from the Warriors because they have no inclination to ever part ways with James.
This possible trade never got past the hypothetical stage and perhaps that is for the best.
