The Golden State Warriors had a red-hot start to the 2023-24 NBA season but have seemingly cooled off a bit over the last few games.
Stephen Curry and the Warriors have lost two out of their last three games, resulting in a 6-3 record.
Despite a couple of shaky games recently, the Warriors are still playing like a true NBA Championship contender this season.
Stephen Curry’s excellent start to the season is a crucial reason behind the elite start, but NBA analyst Anthony Slater pointed out an unsung development for the Warriors this season via The Athletic NBA Show on YouTube.
“The other very big development is, they are winning the minutes when he’s off the floor, which they never do,” Slater said.

Slater believes Chris Paul is impacting the game in a positive way whenever Stephen Curry is off the court.
Considering Stephen Curry is one of the best players in the world, most expect the Warriors to be bad when he’s rested during the game.
For years, that’s been the case, but this season the Warriors are actually playing a solid brand of basketball even when Curry is sidelined.
Apart from Paul, Slater also credited Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody for their valuable contributions to the Warriors’ excellent record.
With the Warriors utterly dominating opponents with and without Stephen Curry’s presence on the court, they have a shot at winning the 2024 NBA Championship.
But in the long run, the Dubs still need the brilliance of Stephen Curry to bail them out of a tough situation whenever needed.
So far this season, Curry has averaged 30.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game for the Warriors.
