The Golden State Warriors are off to a flying start in the 2023-24 season, as they are currently 4-1.
On the other hand, the Warriors were 3-2 during the 2022-23 season after their first five games, and an even more concerning thing was the fact that the Dubs lost their next five games.
However, the way that the Warriors are playing this season, there is a very slim chance that the organization faces the same fate.
NBA analyst Mark Willard believes Jordan Poole was the root cause behind the Warriors’ early-season struggles last year as revealed via 95.7 The Game on Twitter.
“It’s because Jordan Poole is not an intelligent basketball player,” Willard said.
"The reason the Warriors are 4-1 this year and singing kumbaya in the locker room after games isn't because Jordan Poole got punched, Jordan's cocky, or Draymond's a jerk. It's because Jordan Poole is not an intelligent basketball player."

Last season, the Warriors had to deal with chemistry issues due to the offseason altercation between Jordan Poole and Draymond Green.
Poole was punched in the face by Green after the two stars exchanged a few words.
While many believed that the fight was the reason behind the team’s struggles last season, Willard thinks it was simply due to a lack of intelligence in Poole as a basketball player.
Well, Willard’s point is valid to some extent, as Jordan Poole is struggling to perform well despite becoming the primary option on the Washington Wizards.
So far, Poole is averaging 17.3 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game for the Wizards.
He’s shooting a terrible 38.5% from the field and 24.1% from the three-point line.
It’s no surprise that the Wizards are the 14th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 1-3 record in the 2023-24 season.
If Poole doesn’t change his playing style soon, the Wizards may finish the season as the worst team in the league.
